Well, folks, it has been a while, and I must say that it feels so good to be back. Camille has been taking up a lot of my free time (hard to imagine ;)) I know, but it has been such an amazing experience. Becoming a mom has truly changed every bit of my being, and for the better.
The biggest change that I have noticed is my ability to stop and "smell the roses," if you will. I take more time to cuddle on the couch, read little baby books, give hugs and kisses, push the swing, check out the stars at night, and so much more.
I have also noticed that, inspite of my absolute love for the spring, I have started to develop a true appreciation the freezing cold temperatures as well. Reason being that the frigid temps give my little family of three a reason to stay in, put on our fuzzy socks and comfy clothes and snuggle with the baby and eachother. Its a beautiful thing, staying in. :)
As a spring baby myself, I have spent my entire life in love with the outdoors, and I continue to grow, I am more and more amazed by the beauty of the Ozarks and The Natural State. We are so lucky to have what we have here in Arkansas.
Obviously, I really understand all of that and during the spring, things are fresh and new and floral, (and I'll probably write about that when March comes around). My point is that in contrast, when we have severe winter weather, I begin to appreciate the indoors as well, the smell of a pumpkin spice candle, the warmth of a few extra space heaters, and This is Us on the TV makes for a pretty cozy winter night. I think I'll stay right here. :)
